The Third Annual International Conference, dedicated to the memory of the founder of the International Law School in Georgia Academician and Professor Levan Alexidze, "Advancing Human Rights and Safeguarding Minority Protections: International Framework and Domestic Legislation" was held on 4 th October 2024 at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, and was organized by the International Law Institute of the Faculty of Law.
The Conference brought together international law scientists and practicioners from Georgia and abroad, including prominent academics from Austria, Germany, Greece, Hungary, and Italy, as well as students from the three neighboring countries — Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Georgia.
The conference was privileged to have Judges Prof. Dr. Lado Chanturia and Prof. Dr. Anja Seibert-Fohr as distinguished key note speakers.
As panel speakers and chairs, the conference was further enriched by the contributions of Dr. iur. Benedikt C. Hartzl, Dr. Kyriaki Topidi, Dr. Prof. Jürgen Pirker, associate Prof. Dr. Alessandro Bufalini, Dr. Katarzyna Zombory, Prof. Dr. Irine Kurdadze, Prof. Dr. Konstantine Korkelia, Prof. Dr. Davit Pataraia, associate prof. Dr. Eka Siradze, associate prof. Dr.Maia Bitadze.
The conference attendies were welcomed by TSU Deputy Rector Erekle Astakhishvili, Tamar Zarandia, Dean of the TSU Faculty of Law, Khatuna Totladze, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia and Dr. Prof. Irine Kurdadze, Director of the TSU International Law Institute.
After both panels interesting discussion took place raising number of innovative ideas and focusing on modern solutions.
